Please join Dr. Eric Hickey, Dean of the California School of Forensic Studies at Alliant International University and Professor Emeritus at California State University, Fresno in a presentation focussing upon his current research and explorations with regard to the role of Psychopathology in sex crimes as well as a glimpse into some of his many projects.

With considerable field experience working with the criminally insane, psychopaths, sex offenders and other habitual criminals, Dr. Hickey has accumulated knowledge and understanding to be considered an expert in the field. A former consultant to the FBIʼs UNABOM Task Force, Dr. Hickey currently assists local, state and federal law enforcement in training and investigations as well as in the review of cold case files. With his unique knowledge and perspective, he helps increase understanding about the psychopathic mind and also helps bring about justice.

Dr. Hickey is an internationally recognized expert for his research on multiple homicide offenders, he conducts seminars in countries throughout Europe, Asia and North America and has trained VIP protection specialists in Israel in topics such as profiling stalkers, threat assessments and interventions. He is an Author writing his first novel, the Crib, and his expertise is regularly sought by the media including appearances on CNN, History Channel, NPR, Larry King Live, 20/20, A & E Biography, Good Morning America among others.

In addition, Dr. Hickey has published several books and articles on the etiology of violence and serial crime. His most frequently cited book, Serial Murderers and their Victims, 2013, 6th Ed. (Thompson-Wadsworth-Cengage Publishers), is used as a teaching tool in universities and by law enforcement in studying the nature of violence, criminal personalities and victim-offender relationships. Other books authored by Dr. Hickey include: Sex Crimes and Paraphilia (Prentice-Hall Publishers) and The Myth of a Psychiatric Crime Wave (Carolina Academic Press).
